Hello my friends,
This month is a bit of a hectic writing month for me. The manuscript for my book, “The Light in Our Eyes: Deconstructing Our Way Toward an Evangelical Future”, is due March 25th.
Thankfully, I’ve had a few very gracious readers look things over and give very helpful feedback, and I’m in the process of incorporating that feedback and getting into the finer points of the editing process (tiny things like citing my sources, which, apparently, that’s a big thing).
I’ll be preaching at Redeemer for the next couple of weeks as well, and writing the last bits of a youth curriculum.
So, it’s all stuff I love. I’m incredibly blessed to be up to my ears in work I love. I’m just very aware, in these moments, of how much I need God’s Spirit.
For these reasons, likely you won’t hear from me until the end of this month (unless you’re a paid subscriber - I plan to send a couple more Gospel in Culture updates before then).
But in the meantime, could you pray for a brother?
I feel very excited, and very good, about these projects at this point. But there is still a lot of editing to do with a little time, and I’m in need of some wisdom and endurance and God’s Spirit to allow me to stumble into the right direction on things.
Thanks, as always, for reading,
Nicholas McDonald
"Father in Heaven, fountain of wisdom and maker, sustainer of time, peoples, and places: for Jesus' sake please give Nicholas what he needs today and in the coming weeks. Fill his heart and mind with the presence of your peace; a calmness for any anxiety, a clarity for any confusion of overload, a courage for the moments when he'd rather retreat. Give him purity of heart, fearlessness of man, a trembling before your word, a humility toward the precious people to whom he ministers. In Jesus' name, Amen. (55 seconds :-/
Praying for you, Nicholas. This is really exciting!
