Hey Nick! I don’t know if you remember me. I was in youth group at Cornerstone in Michigan. I would like to read your book when it’s published. I’ve read a few books in this category, and I’d love to read your take since I have at least a bit of context of at least one space we shared. Your story about conversing with your friend is right on with my own experience (on both sides). I’m really glad you have that perspective. Also, as an artist, I can relate with you about the difficulties of sharing your work and lacking the platform. So huge congrats!!
Of course I remember you, Heidi. It’s great to hear from you! And thank you, yes…I’d love to have you as part of the conversation. I’d enjoy connecting: nicholas@redeemindy.org
I very much get that. I think every writer has been there. I can honestly say three months ago, I told Brenna that if no one made an offer, I'd feel relieved. I think that's because part of what this process showed me was...how shallow so much of the American Christian publishing industry is. And it was kind of relieving. I think it's because it freed me to say, "Just because these publishing houses don't care about my voice, that doesn't mean my voice doesn't matter." I think it took a lot of integrity and a low risk-aversion for Austin and the Multnomah folks to see past all that to a message they believed in. But that's an incredible rarity. And if they'd never chosen it, the book still would have mattered. And my perspective would have mattered, because it matters to God.
So, all that is true for your work, Jenn! Easier said than believed, I know.
Congrats!! That’s amazing, Nick! Your insight into the state of American Evangelism has been really helpful for me to understand the context of the church (global and local) I am a part of today. I’ve referenced the Bard Owl in many conversations with friends and family this year. I’d love to be able to hand them a book instead of forwarding an email or link. Super excited for you!
Congratulations! I’m so glad those few folks saw that yours is an important angle and that there will be an audience for it. I’m looking forward to it!

This is great! Congratulations!
(I might also be a little jealous...but then again a little hopeful, considering I've been getting similarly styled rejections for my book.)

Thanks, Nicholas. You are so right, of course...including about the easier said than believed...!
Excited about this!
Thanks Chris :)

Thank you, Jennifer!
I am happier for you than I can properly express. The word joyful comes to mind. That is saying a lot. Joyful feelings are relatively rare for me.
Looking forward to seeing how things are when you surface for air next.
Praying for you, as ever.
Very kind of you, Bob. Thank you.
Congratulations, Nicholas! Wow, what a story. Very exciting.
I'm excited about this. A long time dream, for sure.
I am so excited for you!
